Simple Analytics
Lightweight, cookie-free website analytics with real-time data, traffic source breakdown, and bot monitoring.
Overview
Simple Analytics is a privacy-first website analytics service included with all RakuWP plans. It tracks pageviews, visitor behavior, traffic sources, and more — all without using cookies or storing IP addresses.
Data is collected via a lightweight JavaScript snippet embedded on your WordPress site and stored on EU-based servers for GDPR compliance.
Key Features
- Cookie-free tracking: No cookies are set on your visitors' devices. Visitor identification uses a browser fingerprint hash (screen size, timezone, language, platform) that cannot be reversed to identify individuals.
- No IP storage: IP addresses are used only to resolve approximate geolocation (country, region, city) and are never stored in the analytics database.
- Real-time dashboard: See today's visits by traffic source with a live-updating stacked area chart (Pro plans and above).
- Traffic source classification: Visits are automatically categorized as Direct, Search, Social, Internal, Referral, or LLM.
- Bot monitoring: Over 95 bot patterns are detected and tracked separately, including search engine crawlers, AI bots, SEO tools, and social media scrapers (Plus and Ultra plans).
- WordPress metadata: Track performance by post author, category, and tag.
- UTM campaign tracking: Full support for utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, and utm_content parameters.
- Filter system: Drill down into your data with combinable filters using IS/IS NOT conditions with AND/OR logic.

Event Types
Simple Analytics tracks the following event types:
| Event | Description |
|---|---|
| Pageview | Triggered when a visitor loads a page. |
| Time on page | Recorded when the visitor leaves the page, includes the duration in seconds. |
| Scroll depth | Captured on page unload or visibility change, records the maximum scroll percentage. |
| Link click | Triggered when the visitor clicks an internal link. |
| Exit click | Triggered when the visitor clicks an external link leading away from your site. |
Time on page and scroll depth are sub-events of a pageview and are not counted as separate events in your monthly quota.
